Delete PDF Pages

Remove unwanted pages from a PDF by clicking them in a thumbnail preview.

Processed on your device, nothing uploadedLast updated

To delete pages from a PDF, drop it onto Kilnfile's Delete PDF Pages tool, click the thumbnails of the pages you want removed or type their numbers, then click Delete pages; the new PDF is built in your browser and never uploaded. The remaining pages are copied unchanged, so text stays selectable and quality is identical to the original.

How do I delete pages from a PDF?

  1. Drop a PDF onto the drop zone, or click it to choose one.
  2. Wait for the thumbnail preview to appear, then click each page you want to remove; selected pages are highlighted.
  3. Or type the page numbers into Pages to delete, for example 2, 5-7.
  4. Click Delete pages.
  5. Download the new PDF and check that the right pages are gone.

Delete PDF Pages renders a small thumbnail of every page with PDF.js so you can see what you are removing, then uses pdf-lib to build a new document containing only the pages you kept. The kept pages are copied as objects, not re-rendered, so text remains selectable, images keep their resolution and the file shrinks roughly in proportion to the pages removed. Deleting the 30 pages of appendices from a 40-page report cuts the size by about three quarters.

There are two ways to choose pages and they stay in sync. Clicking thumbnails is quickest when you can recognise the pages by sight, such as blank scanner pages, a cover sheet or a duplicate. Typing into Pages to delete is quicker for long documents: 2, 5-7 removes page 2 and pages 5 to 7, and ranges can be combined freely. Page numbers count from 1 and match the numbers under the thumbnails, which may not match numbers printed on the pages themselves if the document has a cover or preface.

The tool works on one PDF at a time so that the preview is unambiguous. You cannot delete every page; at least one must remain. If you want to keep only a small selection from a long file, it is often quicker to use Split PDF with a custom range such as 3-5 than to click through dozens of thumbnails. Password-protected PDFs need Unlock PDF first, and Reorder PDF Pages can also drop pages by leaving them out of the new order.

There is no file size limit beyond your device's memory, no signup and no watermark. Rendering thumbnails for a 500-page document takes a few seconds; the deletion itself is almost instant. Everything runs in your browser, the PDF is never uploaded and nothing is stored, so it is safe to use on contracts, statements and other private documents.

How it works: this tool uses pdf-lib and PDF.js (Mozilla), open-source libraries loaded into your browser. No server is involved, so Kilnfile never sees your file. Last reviewed 20 September 2026.

Frequently asked questions

How do I delete several pages at once?

Click each page you want removed in the preview, or type a list into Pages to delete such as 2, 5-7, 12. All selected pages are removed in one pass.

Can I undo a deletion?

The original file on your device is never changed, so if you removed the wrong page just drop the original in again and start over.

Does deleting pages reduce the quality of the rest?

No. The remaining pages are copied exactly as they are, with selectable text and full-resolution images.

Can I delete pages from more than one PDF at a time?

No, this tool takes one PDF at a time so the thumbnail preview is clear. Run it again for each file.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The preview and the deletion both run in your browser using PDF.js and pdf-lib. The file never leaves your device and nothing is stored.
